acrylic painting - uses acrylic resins that dry rapidly, are water-soluble, and serve as a vehicle for any pigment. Its effects may range from the transparent brilliance of water color to the density of oil paint. Acrylics are less affected by heat and deterioration than oils.
collage - an artistic composition of diverse materials and objects pasted over a surface, often with unifying lines and color.
etching - pictures are printed on paper from a design etched on metal plates.
interior design - design of interior spaces to include harmony of color, texture, lighting, scale, and proportion. Furnishings must be in proportion to the space they occupy and to the needs and lifestyles of the residents.
landscape architect - the design of outdoor space to achieve environmental or aesthetic outcomes. It includes the decorative and functional design and planting backyards, front yards, etc.
lithography - a printing process in which the image to be printed is rendered on a flat surface, as on sheet zinc or aluminum, and treated to retain ink while the certain areas are treated to repel ink and then placed on paper.
oil painting - painted with a pigment ground in oil usually linseed and painted on a canvas.
sculpture - the art or practice of shaping figures or designs as by chiseling marble, modeling clay, casting in metal or any medium.
tempera painting - use of ground pigment mixed with a water-soluble material, such as egg yolk, gum or wax. The special ground for tempera painting is a rigid wood panel coated with thin layers of gesso, a preparation usually made of plaster of Paris and glue. Tempera paint is resistant to water and allows over painting with more color; the thin, transparent layers of paint produce a clear, luminous effect.
watercolor painting - a paint composed of water-soluble pigments, usually painted on special water color paper. So called in distinction from oil color.
